Home-school prom attracts teens from across Oregon
Teens from Salem to Hillsboro paid $30 each to attend the formal in
Tigard on Saturday night. "It means the same thing as it would to any high
school teen," Oregon Home Education Network President Alison Jakel says.
"As much as high school teens look forward to their prom, our home-school
teens look forward to theirs."

Home-school graduates celebrate diverse interests
Members of the Mesa Valley Vision Home and Community Program class of
2012 studied Greek, Chinese, French and Spanish, completed Advanced
Placement classes without the aid of a classroom teacher, worked everywhere
from a cattle ranch to a nursing home and earned a total of three certified
